About Us
SakeMico was founded in 2014. We are the pioneer company in Portugal specialising in the import, distribution, and promotion of JUNMAI-SHU (Pure Premium Japanese Sake) and HONKAKU-SHOCHU (A Traditional Japanese Spirit).
We opened our first small Tasting Room/Sake Bar on a side street in Campo de Ourique in 2016. However, the social distancing measures implemented during the pandemic forced us to shut down in 2020.
After almost a year of only on-line sales, we acquired a larger space behind Jardim de Estrela, where we re-opened in 2022 as a Japanese Restaurant with the addition of two new partners. SakeMico as it is today, has become a well known institution in Lisbon where the knowledgable staff serve up top notch sushi dishes and a vast array of premium Japanese Sake.
In 2024, we acquired a small second space in Principe Real. We then brought in a Japanese Chef and carpenters from Japan to transform the space into YOIZARU IZAKAYA . We opened in Dec, 2024 serving five star Izakaya dishes in a relaxed, cozy setting. Aside from the creative Izakaya fare at YOIZARU , we also have an extensive Shochu collection. On the drinks menu are Japanese Spirits based cocktails as well as creative MOCKTAILS:
